Ingenious Grill Glove

I love to cook!  One of my favorite dishes to cook is barbecue because it is easy to prepare and I can save it for later.  I know that most of you don't like to barbecue because of the hassle of flipping meat from time to time.  Worry not, I have found the most ingenious barbecue tool that will make your barbecuing a breeze--the GrillGlove.  It is a glove that you wear to flip burgers, steaks and everything on top of your barbecue grill.  It is made of 100% food grade heat resistant silicone that is dishwasher safe and can be used to up to 500 degrees centigrade!  Just don't get carried away flipping.

Order your very own gloves by clicking this link.  This is not available in stores.  By ordering now, you can get 2 gloves for $14.99 and a FREE lava mitt for use in your kitchen.

Katy Perry's Smurfs Look

When Katy Perry arrived at the MTV Movie Awards, we are all in awe of her Smurf-like look.  Guys, you don't need to wonder no more because there is an explanation for her get-up.  This is just in, The Smurfs will make a comeback, but this time, on the big screen... and guess what, Katy Perry will lend her voice to  the yellow-haired Smurfette!  Katy opted to wear a blue wig because for all we know, that yellow/blonde wig was already worn by Lady Gaga.  So guys, it was all an early promotion of Katy Perry's new gig.

Jolie as Cleopatra

 Photo from E! Online.

This is something to watch out for... Angelina Jolie is the new Cleopatra!  I think she'd give justice to the glamorous and powerful persona such as Cleopatra.

Philippines' 112th Independence Day

Happy Independence Day to the Philippines!

It has been 112 years since Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo proclaimed the Philippine independence in Kawit, Cavite and the start of the First Philippine Republic.  I remember the lecture of my professor in college that it wasn't actually Aguinaldo who waved the Philippine flag.  Whoever waved it, he sure made history.

Losing Someone

I received a bad news today and it has something to do with losing someone you nurtured and cared for inside your womb.

We all got excited of the news that our friend is expecting her second child.  We are more than ecstatic to know that she is expecting a girl.  She would post on her Facebook account the would-be name of her little princess and we would joke about her punishing her child if she will give her a really long name.  She is not married but lives with her boyfriend together with their three year-old son.  It wasn't a conventional and happy set-up because she would miss reporting to the office because of obvious bruises all over her body.  Yes, she is in an abusive relationship but she chose to stay with the man for hopes of change... nothing has changed, though.  Our friend is expecting her child on July but we were surprised that she had a CS four weeks earlier.  She was discharged from the hospital three days after but her baby remained inside the NICU.  We receive news about the baby's condition from time to time and each and every update, the child's condition becomes worse and just this day a friend confirmed that the baby didn't make it.

My friend have had preterm labors weeks before the baby came out and she would said  that it is due to stress.  We later found out that the cause of her stress is her boyfriend.  They had a huge fight in the morning  before she had an emergency CS.  She asked her neighbor to take her to the hospital because she feels that the baby would come out any time soon.  Her boyfriend is drinking in bouts outside their house.

I felt hate to the man that my friend chose to love.  There is just no excuse for abuse.

Her little angel is now gone.  She was not given a chance to write her very long name... maybe because He knew that if she will live long enough, she will just witness her mom being abused by her dad.

I know that many women around the world have had an abusive relationship and many more women are struggling to get out of the situation.  Fear is the only emotion that would let the victim stay--fear of her own life and fear for the life of her children, but if she knows that there are people out there who will help her, she'll realize that it isn't late to gather up strength and courage to set herself free.

Aquino Proclaimed as President of the Philippines

It is official, Benigno 'Noynoy' C. Aquino III is the new President of the Philippines.  More than a month after the first ever automated elections in the Philippines and after many controversies surrounding it, we now have a new president.

Noynoy is the son of the murdered Senator Benigno 'Ninoy' Aquino and the late former President Corazon Aquino.  Whatever brought him to what is right is a mix of his parents' legacy, a little bit of his sister's popularity (Kris is his younger sister) and a whole lot of luck or fate.  He's my bet so I am happy that he got the post.  My hopes for his term is for the Philippines to become a better place for Filipinos or foreign migrants to live in.

He will officially take office on June 30--earlier than the usual start of term.  His running-mate, Sen. Mar Roxas on the other hand was not able to bag the VP post but nevertheless, I think the Filipinos also made a wise decision to vote for Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay as the Vice-President.  Binay positively noted that whatever it is that the President wants him to do for the benefit of the country, he will do it.

Let us wait and see and hope that the next six years of our lives during their term would be better.

No Internet

No internet for five days... hell!

No internet for five days would be okay if:

1. I don't have a farm to tend... I don't want my plants to wither!

2. I don't have a restaurant to manage... thank goodness Restaurant City has improved their settings.  I opened my restaurant for 24 hours.

3. I don't have fishes to feed... I am now forced to harvest them all.

4. I don't have a pet to look after... Jimmy would be hungry... and his pet Swiper too!

5. I don't have a blog... err blogs to update... I have five for Pete's sake!

6. I don't have an online boss... I am a Virtual Assistant by night.

I still have a lot to enumerate but these six things are more important.  Generally, my life evolves into facing the computer and click until my hands get tired... numbers 5 and 6 helps me earn moolah.  I guess I have given enough good reasons to panic a bit.

Good luck to me on those five days!
