Good luck, Mr. Gorsky!

Photo from here.
On July 20, 1969, as commander of the Apollo 11 Lunar Module, Neil Armstrong was the first person to set foot on the moon. His first words after stepping on the moon, "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind," were televised to earth and heard by millions. But just before he reentered the lander, he made the enigmatic remark, "Good luck, Mr. Gorsky!"

Many people at NASA thought it was a casual remark concerning some rival Soviet cosmonaut. However, upon checking, there was no Gorsky in either the Russian or American space programs.

Over the years, many people questioned Armstrong as to what the "Good luck, Mr. Gorsky" statement meant, but Armstrong always just smiled.

On July 5, 1995, in Tampa Bay, Florida, while answering questions following a speech, a reporter brought up the 26-year-old question to Armstrong. This time he finally responded. Mr. Gorsky had died, so Neil Armstrong felt he could answer the question. In 1938 when he was a kid in a small midwest town, he was playing baseball with a friend in the backyard. His friend hit the ball, which landed in his neighbor's backyard by the bedroom windows. His neighbors were Mr. and Mrs. Gorsky. As he leaned down to pick up the ball, young Armstrong heard Mrs. Gorsky shouting at Mr. Gorsky, "Sex! You want sex?! You'll get sex when the kid next door walks on the moon!"

Go the Fuck to Sleep!

Adam Mansbach probably had a conversation with me some time this year, heard my night struggles about trying to get my son to sleep and made it an inspiration to write a book.

That's a made up story.

Anyway, the author created a funny children's story book for adults that clearly narrates a parent's struggle each night for their kids to go to sleep. To make the story more hilarious, Samuel L. Jackson narrates it.

Four reasons why I do not have a tattoo

Photo from here.

I can have my ears pierced several times (actually had two earrings on each ear when I was in high school), I can bear facials, I can survive months without pedicure (gross), I can eat balut, I can even dissect a corpse but, if there is one thing I could not do, it is to have a tattoo.

I only have four reasons:

1. If I am in love and into tattoos, there's a possibility that I will have my man's name tattooed on my body. And what will I do if in case things don't go well in our relationship? I will have to endure erasing the tattoo or let my next relationship endure the sight of my ex's name tattooed on my body.

2. I could not imagine my tattoo when I reach 60.

3. We will never know when will the zodiac signs change. A few days ago, I was an Aquarius but now I am Capricorn.

4. We are human and we all commit mistakes... like misspelled words and wrong grammar (photo above).

It is Hard To Be A Model: Catwalk and liquor don't go well together.

I have to show this to you. Catwalk and liquor are a bad combination. This is just a show but it proves again that it really is hard to be a model... I wonder how much the two girls got after the show?

I should live in these places

I should live in the Town of Normal where everything seems to be normal.  Actually, this town in Illinois is derived from ecole normale which means a teacher training college.  Simply put, the name was from a college that was built in Bloomington on 1861.

Or maybe I should live in Hell.  I heard it is a wonderful place to unwind.  I am not talking about the hell down there, it is the Hell up North in Norway.

It Is Hard To Be A Model Part 2

This model is really professional and I applaud her for that.  If I were to wear that box coat by Maison Martin Margiela, I swear I will never make it to the end of the runway without laughing or perhaps I couldn't even make it out of the runway at all to model that really weird coat/box.  I bet no one would want to be caught dead wearing this coat, not even at home.

This is proof again that it is really hard to be a model.

Ladies and Gentlemen: The Penis Pants

Honestly, would you wear these pants?

Photo from here.

Who would want to see pants with uncircumcised penis?  Thank goodness for that headpiece, the model's face is a bit hidden.  I told you, it is really hard to be a model.  I showed this photo to my friends and they all had the same reaction as mine--they all cried laughing.  And they all started to make really wild stories about these pants.

I was thinking, maybe Isabel Mastache wants the world to know that men have this protruding thing on their body called penis and that they need to be recognized in the world of fashion.

She surely made her mark in the avant-garde division. B-R-A-V-O!

Funny Reactions of Gay Friends Over Venus Raj

This video is so funny--I almost cried laughing.  This video is about gay friends watching the 2010 Miss Universe Pageant.  They laughed, jumped like Tom Cruise and cried over sheer excitement and joy when Miss Philippines was called to be the 15th finalist.

Salt

Yipee!  Salt is now showing!  I can' wait to see Angie kick some ass.  I could not remember when was the last time I saw her doing stunts... Mr. & Mrs. Smith perhaps.  Anyway, several months ago I said to my friend that I will not miss this movie and I was so excited about it that I went to the cinema two weeks ago to watch it without confirming if it is already showing.  Haha!  I went home after realizing that once again, I have made a blunder.

My Mom and the Toyota Camry

My Mom, after thinking a hundred times about having a vacation, finally said yes and together with a friend, they went to Illinois.  My Mom could possibly be the most hilarious woman on earth.  Here is one of her misadventures during her vacation in Illinois.

Her friend's sister owns a Toyota Camry and my mom's friend asked her sister if they could borrow the car for a week.  Her sister said yes.  Off to the town they went and my mother was the driver.  They went to the grocery to buy some stuff before they visit Harpo Studios--not to watch Oprah but just to be at the studio.  They hurriedly went to the parking lot to get the car and my mom noticed that it wasn't locked.  Her friend said that they should take it to the auto repair shop to check what was the matter.  They dialed a Chicago auto repair shop near to where they are and before anyone on the other line could answer the phone, a man went running towards my mom and her friend.  This is the part where everything became hilarious.  Apparently, the car in trouble is not the car they borrowed.  Their car was parked on the other side of the building and the car they thought theirs was the man's.  My mom explained that it looked exactly like the car they were driving and because they just borrowed it, they did not know the plate number.  My mom and her friend were so apologetic and thank goodness the man was forgiving.  They went to the other side of the building to where their car was and drove to Harpo Studios laughing their hearts out.

Grandma's Last Will

Grandma has only days to live... she could be gone days after this blog and she could be gone even before the day ends.  The time she was diagnosed with brain cancer up to the time that I learned about her story, his only grandchild  looked after her.

Grandma:  Come here boy, I have something very important to tell you.
Grandson:  What is it Grandma?
Grandma:  You know that you are the only relative I have and despite my condition, you never left me in one of those nursing homes for the sick and aged like me... and I thank you for that.
Grandson:  That is nothing compared to the love and care you've given me since my parents died.  You are now my mother and I love you so much!
Grandma:  Only He knows when I will be gone, I have already accepted it in exchange that He will take care of you in my behalf.  There are things that you didn't know of and I think this is the best time for me to tell it all to you.
Grandson:  What are you talking about, Grandma?
Grandma:  In your name I will leave you my land, all my animals and all the things I have come to acquire throughout the years.  Promise me that you will take care of them.  Promise me.
Grandson:  I promise, Grandma... I promise and I will never let you down.  Where is it then?
Grandma:  In Farmville... my Facebook account is grandma@yahoo.com and my password is grandson.  By the way, it is almost time to harvest my pumpkins... could you please harvest it for me before they wilt?
