Argentine Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio was chosen by 2/3 of the cardinals from around the globe during the conclave that began on March 12, two weeks after the resignation of Pope Benedict XVI.
The first Latin American pope is a Jesuit and it is not a mystery why he chose to be called Pope Francis--another first in the history of papacy.
